Switch the printer off and let the printhead cool. Open the cover, release the printhead assembly (toolless on the series that support it, otherwise loosen the retaining screws), disconnect the ribbon cable, fit the new printhead, reconnect, close, and run a calibration and test print. Clean the new printhead with an isopropyl-alcohol swab before first use and after every ribbon change to protect the warranty.
